Because there is too little psychological care in the country for people suffering from depression and anxiety (12 psychiatrists for 14 million people), volunteer social workers take this into their own hands. For three weeks they are specially trained to be able to offer people a helping hand and supportive conversation on &#8211; actually &#8211; benches that are located near clinics across the country. The now 400 volunteers are called \u201cCommunity Grandmothers\u201d &#8211; because they are all female, with an average age of 58 years.
